The public school board meeting for Tuesday September 14th, will be held at the High School Library at 5:30. The regular scheduled board meeting will follow immediately after.
Mohawk Volleyball for Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 has been postponed until a later date due to Covid 19 issues.
I just wanted to remind everyone that IF you are placed in quarantine, what exactly that means.
By definition it means: a state, period, or place of isolation in which people that have arrived from elsewhere or been exposed to infectious or contagious disease are placed.
People that are placed in quarantine are to isolate themselves at home for the duration of the quarantine unless they begin to show signs or symptoms from Covid 19 and are needing to seek medical attention for Covid 19 or other medical emergencies.
It DOES NOT mean going to shopping, ball games, the golf course, or to the parking lot beside the tracks, etc. Please be aware that people are watching and you could be at risk of getting others sick. So, I please urge you to stay at home and isolate yourself during your quarantine time. Reach out to others if you have personal needs, people in this community are more than willing to help. If a person or persons are violating the quarantine policy it could lead to further disciplinary action. Thank you for your cooperation. Let's work on keeping everyone safe and everyone protected. Others before self!

The volleyball matches(7th, Jr, and Sr) with Palestine/Wheatley for tonight 09/09/21 have been postponed. Senior night will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined. The Palestine/Wheatley match will be rescheduled as well.
Senior yearbook pictures will be taken starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9. All girls need to wear a dress or dressy blouse. No t-shirts or shirts with writing on them. Boys will need to wear a collared, button down shirt with a tie. There will be a $10 sitting fee that will need to be paid the day of pictures.

Tomorrow, Thursday, September 2 is the last day to order 2021 Homecoming t-shirts. Anyone wanting to order must turn in form with payment by 3:10 tomorrow afternoon. Order forms were given to classes and in the high school office. Homecoming is September 17.
Football Friday Night: Mohawk fans join us Friday, September 3, 2021 as the Mohawks travel to St. Pius X for the opening game of the season. The address to St. Pius X is 1030 St. Pius X Drive in Festus, MO. Parking is located next to the field. Admission is $3 for adults. Students, first responders, military/veterans, and seniors are FREE. Masks are not required. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to sit on the field level for better distancing. The game will be live streamed on St. Pius X Facebook Live page. Go Mohawks!
The Volleyball game vs. Helena for today, Tuesday, August 31 has been cancelled. The next game will be Thursday, Sept. 2 at Manila.
Juniors and Seniors: Jostens will be here tomorrow, Tuesday, August 31 to take orders for class rings and senior graduation supplies. A deposit of $60 will be due at the time of order. Orders can also be made through Jostens.com.
Pee-wee Football sign-ups for 3rd-6th grade are tonight from 3:30-5:30 and Saturday from 9-12 at the Old Gym. The cost is $20. If you have any questions or can't make it to sign-ups, call Coach Rau at 870-634-6003.
Cross Country Meeting!! If you are wanting to participate in Cross Country, please see me on Monday, August 30, 2021, after 8th period, in the middle gym. 7th through 12th grade students may participate. Sr. Football Jamboree at Paragould tonight, August 19, 2021. Admission is $4 for all spectators. AAA pass will be accepted. Paragould School Covid 19 guidelines will be enforced. Piggott will play around 7pm v. Gosnell and 7:30 v. Paragould. Games are 30 minutes long with running clock. Go Mohawks!
In an effort to prevent the spread of the Covid 19 virus within our staff and student body we are asking all parents/guardians of students who will be in attendance on-site, and all employees to notify our designated Point of Contact (POC) immediately when the following occurs:
* Someone in the household has tested positive for Covid-19
* Someone in the household has been identified as a close contact to a positive case
of Covid 19 and is requiring quarantine and/or recommended to be tested for
Covid 19
* Students (attending on-site) and employees who are being tested for Covid 19. If a
student/staff member has been tested for Covid 19 and is also symptomatic, the
student/staff member should remain in quarantine pending the results of their Covid 19
test.

Parents: If you child has a medical condition that prohibits him or her from wearing a mask, a written statement from the healthcare provider must be given to the school principal's office or the student will be expected to wear a mask.
To all Piggott Elementary parents: Open House will be Monday, August 16, from 3-7. Please remember we have a mask mandate and you will need to keep your visits to a minimum of 15 mins. We hope to see you all there!
High School Open House will be tomorrow, Thursday, August 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. ALL students and parents should meet in the High School Cafeteria to pick up schedules. After pick up, students will be able to go into the main building and meet their teachers. Friday, August 13 is the deadline for enrolling in the Mohawk Virtual Academy. Applications may be picked up during Open House.
