Congratulations to the chess team: Colton Haywood, Trey Cavaness, Reece Dotson, and Tyson Peters for placing 3rd in regional competition Saturday at A-State.
Seniors: The 2020-2021 ASPMA Scholarship Application is available now. All applications must be postmarked on or before April 1st, 2020. Any graduating high school senior planning to attend a College/University, Vocational-Technical, or Trade School is eligible to apply. See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for an application or link.
Prom Decorating Committee will meet on Thursday during activity period in Mrs. Conley's room. Prom Food Committee will meet on Friday during activity period in Mrs. Conley's room.
Kyson Conley, Logan White, Hunter Midkiff, Will Vancil, and Glen Alan Campbell from 9am-10am will be at Brad head start participating in the reading program.
For the Junior Historians...If you are planning on going on the field trip on March 20, permission slips and money have to be turned in no later than tomorrow Wednesday, February 19th.
All 8th and 10th graders will have their BMI screening and 8th grade, their scoliosis screening on March the 3rd in the library starting around 9 am.
eSports will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Computer Lab.
Wednesday, Feb. 19, the Archery team will have yearbook pictures made during activity period. FCA will also meet on Wednesday for pictures before activity period at approx. 9:10. Also, the Jr Cheer and Girls and Boys Basketball will have yearbook pictures made on Wednesday beginning at 8:30.
Monday, Feb 24 Track pictures will be taken during activity period in the New Gym.

Next ACT Test: April 4. The deadline for registration without late fees is February 28. This test will not be given at PHS. Next PHS ACT is June 13. Registration deadline for the June 13 test is May 8.

The deadline to enter The Miss Mohawk Pageant is this Friday,February 21. Entry forms and fees must be turned in by Friday. Entry forms may be picked up in Mrs. Woolery's classroom.
The 2nd Annual Spend a Day with a Judge contest is open for all Arkansas high school students.To enter, the students will either write an essay or draw a courtroom drawing (at the mock trial competition). ACT for All Juniors here at PHS is next Tuesday,February 25.
The play sponsored by TRCC and Sharing Hearts will be on Friday, February 21 beginning at 8:30. This is for the 7th and 8th graders. Please dismiss at 8:15.
Seniors: Mrs. Amber has scholarship applications for the Arkansas Academy of Hair Design. The deadline is March 30, 2020. They have schools located in Paragould and Jonesboro. Cosmetology is offered at both campuses. Esthetics and Nail Tech programs are offered at the Jonesboro campus.
BRTC MASH summer program: This is a 2 week camp for 10th and 11th graders interested in health careers. The camp dates are June 8 -18 and camps are offered at two locations - Jonesboro and Pocahontas. See Mrs. Amber for an application. Deadline is April 3.
DRAMA CLUB: Students who intend to go on the field trip on Feb. 27th should have paid HALF of their ticket money ($21.50) to Miss Vernon by the end of the day on Friday, Feb. 14th. The other half will be due the day before we go (Wednesday, Feb. 26th). You will need money for lunch that day (approximately $20 should do it) and any souvenirs you want to buy. Miss Vernon will have permission slips ready for pickup by this Friday (Feb. 8th). See Miss Vernon with any questions.
***Juniors: If you are planning on participating in Prom this year, you must pay your dues by February 28. Only Juniors with at least $40 dues paid will be able to vote for prom themes and participate on committees.

LOST AND FOUND: There are several items that have been turned in to the office. If you are missing a jacket or other item, please check in the office ASAP.
MICROWAVES IN THE CAFETERIA - Students please wipe out the microwaves in the cafeteria after using. This is not the cafeteria workers responsibility. If you use the microwaves, please help us to be able to keep them by doing your part. Thank you.

****Seniors: The MFA scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office. The committee will consider scholastic progress, citizenship, extracurricular activities, educational plans, and financial need. Deadline is March 13, 2020. Turn in applications to Mrs. Amber.
Seniors: If you are a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire. Stepchildren of living Legionnaires may apply if their parent is currently married to the Legion member. Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of deceased Legionnaires are also eligible. See Mrs. Amber for an application. Application and documents must be received by March 13, 2020.
